I Love Pets~ Woot!

Ahaha.. again haven't been blogging for quite some time, due to my working hours.

Really been busy with work since Monday, but it's busy mixed with enjoyment. For the first time, i find a job that i really enjoy, with a nice environment and colleagues that i like.

I started my on-job-training with Pet Lovers Centre at Holland Village as a retail sales assistant on Monday, which will last til this coming Sunday.

Basically, the training is for me to learn the day-to-day operations of the shop itself as well as the correct ways of retailing since this is my first retail experience. Like how to do cashier-ing, and accepting payments by nets and credit cards, for example.

My supervisor and colleagues are really friendly and i got accustomed to the place and work pretty quickly, considering my 'shaky' start-off. I still remember serving my first customer, and my hands were literally shaking when i was handing him his change..-_-; But i'm like a pro now wahaha! =x Joking.. i still make some mistakes once in a while, but my supervisor is nice enough not to scold me. =P

Anyway, it's really true that alot of 'ang mo's stay at that area, coz i think the number of 'ang mo's i served for the past few days is already more than the number of 'ang mo's i met for a year. O_O A good chance to brush up my english.. and bio at some yandao 'ang mo's.. and hopefully snag one as my bf.. =xxx

Anyway, the same goes for dogs as well. Many ppl who came to our shop brought along their dog(s) so i get to play with one or two once in a while, probably coz there's a dog-grooming parlor next to us. I consider this as a perk of my work. =x (Just for clarification, our shop is located on the 2nd floor, and we share the area with a shop that sells dog clothes, a dog-grooming parlor, and Pick-A-Pet - a shop that sells pets. Even then, Pet Lovers Centre takes up most of the space.) Moreover, opposite our shop is Pick-A-Pet, and they sell some really cute puppies and dogs, whose adorable antics i get to stare at everyday. XD

The only problem i'm having now is that, since i'm working shifts, and i don't get my work schedule til like a week before, it becomes difficult for me to plan for anything too far off into the future. Therefore, i'm having trouble trying to plan for my driving lessons now. Headache.. and not to mention, feetache from having to stand and walk around for more than 9 hours everyday. >_<"

But all in all, i'm enjoying my work alot, and i hope to get better at it, to better serve my customers. It really feels great when a customer praises me for my services, and it shows that my efforts are appreciated. =D

Ahh.. so hot..

Hmm i'm back! Yep i know i haven't been blogging for more than a week. Not that i didn't have the time, but well, what with chinese new year and all that, was kinda tired and lazy lolz.

One word for this year's cny.. TIRED! I actually went out everyday for the first 4 days of cny, and came home really late on each day. Really, by the end of cny i was dead tired, and my feet were killing me, especially since i wore shoes with heels during that period. (I usually wear flats instead.. more comfortable.)

Basically, i did mainly the stuff i planned before (mentioned in my previous post) for cny, so i don't think i wanna repeat them here again. And Si, i did wear all the earrings i bought, one pair on each day. =x

Um, i'll have to cut my post short coz i gotta go bath now. To summarise things quickly, i'm job-searching at the moment, and i just went for an interview today. I have some more interviews for the next few days and more resumes to send, hopefully, i can get a job that is decently paid, interesting, and to my liking. Wish me luck!

Gong Xi Fa Cai~!

Hmm new year's coming, so i decide to make my blog more pinkish-red, to suit the festival. =x

Actually, i'm not really into the festival mood. In fact, i think this was the case for the past couple of years. Probably it's due to the same monotonous celebration each year, as well as the same dull boring new year songs and decorations. When would someone come out with something different? Or is tradition that difficult to change or improvise? *shrugs*

But there's a slight difference this year. I'll be spending new year at my aunt's place, and we'll be having our reunion dinner together. Although, in a way, i'd still prefer if it's just me and my parents. Perhaps i'm a person who doesn't like crowds too much.

Anyway, i'll just roughly list out my plans for chinese new year:-
Chu Xi - Go for facial at Modern Beauty Salon at 10am, then perhaps do some last minute shopping. Work half-day from 1pm to 5pm, then return home for reunion dinner. Might go out with Joey and friends at night, or watch tv at home.
Chu Yi - Visit my 2nd aunt (dad's side) in the morning, then return back to my aunt's place (where i'm living now) in the evening for celebrations (mum's side).
Chu Er - Go out and enjoy with friends, probably pool or ktv or just sitting around somewhere.
Chu San - Watch movie with parents, probably at bugis shaw, depending on availability of tickets.
Chu Si - Visit 4th aunt's house (mum's side).
Chu Wu - No idea.. probably go out or just laze around at home.

That's all for the first 5 days of new year. After that i'll start to look for another job. (It's better to earn money from other people rather than my own dad's money, in my opinion. =x) So.. anybody with lobangs can find me. =D

Oh yea, those who want to go out on Chu Er can just sms or msg me on msn, but make it quick coz it's a pain when people can't make up their minds whether to meet up or not until the last minute. ~_~ But of coz, the more the merrier! ^_^ And before i forget, happy chinese new year to all!!

Good prices? Good services? No?

Ahhh! My feet are really aching like hell now! Let me calculate, i walked 5.. no, more like 7 hours today i think. OMG did i really shop non-stop for 7 hours?! NO WONDER my legs are screaming abuse right now.. ~_~

Yea, i'd finally gotten down to shopping for clothes today. Can't delay it any longer, else i'll have no new clothes to wear for new year.

Although i did shop that long, i actually only went to 2 places. Far East Plaza and the shopping centre near Paya Lebar MRT station. (Does this building actually has a name? Someone enlighten me please.)

I went to Far East with the idea that the stuff there are cheaper than other shopping centres. I have no idea where i got that idea from.

Those who know me well would know that i'm someone who doesn't go for branded and expensive stuff. If i can get something for a cheaper price, why the hell should i pay more for it? Like if i can get a nice beautiful handbag for twenty bucks, why should i pay hundreds for some branded look-alike? (By this sentence, u should be able to tell i'm one of those imitation supporters. =x) Likewise, why should i pay $70 to $100++ for a pair of jeans when i can get equally good jeans at $40 or less?

Some of u might argue that u don't just pay for the brand, u actually pay for the design. Yea, i do agree. Sometimes. There're instances when i see a design that i really like, but when i take a look at the price tag, 'ugh' immediately echoed in my head. Well, that's what happens when u're on budget spending like me.

Anyway, i spent more than 2 hours at far east and only managed to buy a top for $19.90, and a ring for $4.90. Either the prices are not cheap enough for me, or the clothes are too weird, or the clothes are not suitable for me, to put it nicely. Alright, the truth is, i don't think my figure is good enough to wear alot of the clothes there. In short, i think i'm too fat ok?

Another thing i don't quite like about the shops there are the salesgirls. The minute i stepped into a shop, the salesgirl(s) immediately started following my behind. I didn't realise people working on the sales frontline are so enthusiastic nowadays. Fierce competition perhaps?

But i feel really uncomfortable looking for clothes with someone hanging at my elbow looking at my every move. Worse still, i came across this shop, and the salesgirl instantly started picking out tops for me and asking me to try them, and i haven't even got to looking at the 1st row of clothes. -.-" I tried them of course, just to save her face, but i didn't buy them. Not that the clothes are ugly or bad, it's just that they don't really look that nice on me (i'm fat remember) and they're kinda expensive.

After almost 3 hours of futile shopping, i gave up on that place and headed to paya lebar. U shld know where i was going if u went to that place before. There's a This Fashion branch in the basement there (the biggest branch, if i'm not wrong) and i always go there when i'm on budget spending.

The thing i like most about This is that their prices are affordable. Although their designs are pretty common (meaning they don't have much unique designs) their prices are mostly quite cheap. Besides, i can get a 10% discount on everything since i'm their member. Furthermore, i don't have to deal with the ordeal of having salesgirls stalking me around.

By the end of the day, i got myself another 2 tops, a white blouse($20.70) and a spagetti-like t-shirt($4.50), a denim short pleated skirt($18.00), and a pair of denim jeans($25.20). Including the top i bought at far east, i spent $93.20 today. Not too bad, considering i had spent hundreds before in a single shopping trip.

Right now i'm thinking of doing more shopping this sunday.. anyone care to join me? =P
