Good prices? Good services? No?Ahhh! My feet are really aching like hell now! Let me calculate, i walked 5.. no, more like 7 hours today i think. OMG did i really shop non-stop for 7 hours?! NO WONDER my legs are screaming abuse right now.. ~_~
Yea, i'd finally gotten down to shopping for clothes today. Can't delay it any longer, else i'll have no new clothes to wear for new year.
Although i did shop that long, i actually only went to 2 places. Far East Plaza and the shopping centre near Paya Lebar MRT station. (Does this building actually has a name? Someone enlighten me please.)
I went to Far East with the idea that the stuff there are cheaper than other shopping centres. I have no idea where i got that idea from.
Those who know me well would know that i'm someone who doesn't go for branded and expensive stuff. If i can get something for a cheaper price, why the hell should i pay more for it? Like if i can get a nice beautiful handbag for twenty bucks, why should i pay hundreds for some branded look-alike? (By this sentence, u should be able to tell i'm one of those imitation supporters. =x) Likewise, why should i pay $70 to $100++ for a pair of jeans when i can get equally good jeans at $40 or less?
Some of u might argue that u don't just pay for the brand, u actually pay for the design. Yea, i do agree. Sometimes. There're instances when i see a design that i really like, but when i take a look at the price tag, 'ugh' immediately echoed in my head. Well, that's what happens when u're on budget spending like me.
Anyway, i spent more than 2 hours at far east and only managed to buy a top for $19.90, and a ring for $4.90. Either the prices are not cheap enough for me, or the clothes are too weird, or the clothes are not suitable for me, to put it nicely. Alright, the truth is, i don't think my figure is good enough to wear alot of the clothes there. In short, i think i'm too fat ok?
Another thing i don't quite like about the shops there are the salesgirls. The minute i stepped into a shop, the salesgirl(s) immediately started following my behind. I didn't realise people working on the sales frontline are so enthusiastic nowadays. Fierce competition perhaps?
But i feel really uncomfortable looking for clothes with someone hanging at my elbow looking at my every move. Worse still, i came across this shop, and the salesgirl instantly started picking out tops for me and asking me to try them, and i haven't even got to looking at the 1st row of clothes. -.-" I tried them of course, just to save her face, but i didn't buy them. Not that the clothes are ugly or bad, it's just that they don't really look that nice on me (i'm fat remember) and they're kinda expensive.
After almost 3 hours of futile shopping, i gave up on that place and headed to paya lebar. U shld know where i was going if u went to that place before. There's a This Fashion branch in the basement there (the biggest branch, if i'm not wrong) and i always go there when i'm on budget spending.
The thing i like most about This is that their prices are affordable. Although their designs are pretty common (meaning they don't have much unique designs) their prices are mostly quite cheap. Besides, i can get a 10% discount on everything since i'm their member. Furthermore, i don't have to deal with the ordeal of having salesgirls stalking me around.
By the end of the day, i got myself another 2 tops, a white blouse($20.70) and a spagetti-like t-shirt($4.50), a denim short pleated skirt($18.00), and a pair of denim jeans($25.20). Including the top i bought at far east, i spent $93.20 today. Not too bad, considering i had spent hundreds before in a single shopping trip.
Right now i'm thinking of doing more shopping this sunday.. anyone care to join me? =P
