Changing workplace again~

Hee.. just wanna inform everybody that from tomorrow onwards i'll no longer be working at Hougang Mall PLC anymore. Not that i didn't want to, but i was sort of forced to transfer to Toa Payoh outlet.

Some of u might say that i should be happier at Toa Payoh since i'm staying there now. Well, that may be the case and i am, in a way, glad that i only have to walk around 10 mins to reach my workplace, but the problem lies with the supervisor in charge of that outlet, which is J. (For those who read my previous posts, u'll know who i'm refering to. For those who didn't, go read it now. :x)

Anyway, i've already requested to my previous supervisor to be transfered to PS asap, coz she's in charge of that place. (U know, if J happens to come across my blog here i'll be deadmeat. :x)

So if anyone wanna find me at my workplace, don't go Hougang Mall, i won't be there, i'll be at Toa Payoh, at least for the next month. And if anyone doesn't read my blog and pops down to Hougang Mall and finds me missing, don't complain to me that i never inform u hor. :x

Oh yeah, i'll try to put my schedule for April up so that those who wanna date me will know when i'm free. :x I've also decided to change my blog's format to the original style, when i've the time, so that it'll be easier for everyone to read and navigate, so stay tuned. That's all folks! :P

Cheer up!

Well, i just realised that my recent posts are all complaints and lao sao. So i've decided to post something more cheerful this time. :x

Despite all the things that happened the last few days, last Sat was actually quite enjoyable. My off day for last week was initially on Tue, but due to Weizhong's bird-day chalet being on Sat, i had to change it to Sat. Weizhong must gan xie me ok! I made a big sacrifice leh! Because i postponed my off day so i had to work 10 days straight (with most of it being late shifts) before i can rest hor! :x *hides*

Anyway, i planned to go down to HV in the early noon to visit Kay and Ping first before meeting up with Via and the rest, but when i reached there, i discovered that Ping was SICK! >_< Nonetheless, i still saw Kay, Richard and Ivy, as well as got to know a couple of new trainees. One of them is a pretty tall chinese guy, not bad looking, average build, same age as me, studying in NTU, has a Chihuahua, and training to be a part-timer at PLC. Hmm.. should i? *LOL* Nahz, kidding.. he might already be attached for all i know. :P

Working at HV was fun fUn FuN FUN!! Lolz! I think Via and Si will be falling off their chair when they read this again. I reached HV PLC at around 1pm and was soon having fun helping at the counter, chatting with everyone there, and teaching the trainees new stuff. But Kay kept pulling me away and asking me not to work on my off day, coz she wanted me to eat the chicken pie a customer gave her and drink the apple tea she bought for me. ~_~ (Really, one thing bad is, i'm sure to get fat if i continue to work there, coz Kay's always buying drinks and giving me stuff to eat.. LOL)

Btw, the Corgi that Ping and me loved so much was sold.. so sad! >_< But i'm happy for the dog as well lah.. hope his new owner treats him well.

Was supposed to meet Via at 2:30pm, but time passed sooooo fast at HV.. and it was almost 2:30pm before i knew it. :x So i smsed via to postpone the meeting time to 3pm. But 30 mins still not enough leh~ so i was stuck (out of my very own free will :x) at HV until 3pm+ before i finally left lolz. In fact, by the time i reached PS it was already almost 4pm. :x

After i met up with Via, Webby and YC (the dig-nose king wahaha.. and via was telling me how lonely she was feeling being together with those 2 lovebirds lol) we went to shop around for Weizhong's bday presents. We ended up buying a red devil-shaped ashtray, a cigarette-holder (forgot what it's called.. help me Via!), and a lighter that looks like a bullet, with green fire when lighted.. (think u ppl have to see it to understand my description) cool huh?

After Si came to join us, the 5 of us went down to Costa Sands to Weizhong's chalet. When we reached there my 1st thought was - 'Whoa! So many ppl sia!' There was his relatives all over the place and near the bbq area was like.. crowded with ppl from the next door chalet. =_=

Had our dinner there (i love the seaweed chicken! XD) and had our usual chat and gossip session. Webby and YC went home at 9pm+ (coz she wasn't feeling well) and Si, Via and me went to Swensens to do sinful things..... eat ice-cream. :x

This was what i ate.. ice-cream cake! Yum..

After putting on more calories, we took the mrt home......

Our mei tuis.. :x

Via and me~ abit white i know.. >_<

Alrighty, before i go, one last pic....

A hamster that a customer brought down to Hougang coz she didn't want it anymore. Cute hor? It got adopted on the same day (last Sunday).

Anyway, might be going down to HV again later. I originally wanted to go HV today instead of Sat, but Kay told me Ping's off today that's why i went on Sat. But i still didn't get to see Ping coz she was on MC duhz. However Ping said she'll go down to HV today as well if i go so hmm.. will probably go down to meet her.. and shun bian buy something there as well..

Suay-ness..

These few days, really very suay. From all those incidents that occured in a span of just a few days, it really shows how inorganised the management is. Let's start the story from Sunday(27/3).

I went to work as usual in the morning, and did all routine stuffs before i opened the shop for business. The only thing was, my shift was supposed to be from 9am to 6pm, however, there was no one available for the later shift (1pm to 10pm) as all the other 3 part-timers of Hougang outlet had other commitments - one having exams, another holidaying overseas, and the third was busy at her own cafe. The end result, i had no choice but to work full shift, that is, from 9am to 10pm.

How did this come about? Quite a few days before that Sunday, i noticed that there was only one worker available for both Saturday and Sunday, and i called my superior (let's call her L) asking her to assist me in finding ppl to stand in for the shifts. She told me she would ask another supervisor (and let's call this supervisor J) to find workers for me, and i left it at that coz, at that time, i still had alot of faith in her (she's a manager after all). However, J later called me saying L told her that we (Hougang outlet) didn't need any extra workers anymore coz L already found stand-ins for us. Hence, J didn't find anyone to stand in. Ok, at this point of time i believed what they said (now i realise that they're totally not dependable).

BUT i discovered on Sat that L actually did not find anyone to stand in for us, and i had to quickly get J to help me to find workers. Very last minute i know, but we really had no choice. (Sat was actually my off-day but i still had to find someone, if not the Hougang part-timer, Jess, working on Sat had to work full shift.) The worse thing was, L went off on holiday 2 days ago and wasn't due to be back for work yet, so i couldn't clarify anything with her. -_-"

J managed to find someone to work on Sat night, but she was having trouble with Sun night. She told me if she couldn't find anyone, she would personally come to Hougang to stand in. NOTE: she volunteered, i didn't ask her to do it, not a word about that whatsoever, none, zilch.

On Sun noon, about 12pm+, i made a call (the first call of the day) to J to ask her for something totally unrelated to the stand-in matter (i'll talk about this later). But when she heard my voice, she immediately said (not the exact words but something like this), "Wa lao.. why u keep calling me to ask about the staff.. i very angry about this leh! I'm not going to go down and work lor! It's very unfair to me leh!"

Me, "........................................."

HELLO?? I didn't say anything about her coming down right?! She said that herself what! In the first place i wasn't even going to ask her about that lor! If she didn't want to come down she could have just said it and that's enough right? Need the 'unfair' part meh?? Then she think it's fair for me meh? I did ask for help a few days earlier right? If she felt that it was unfair to her then she shouldn't have volunteered in the first place mah. Yeah i know it wasn't her fault that all these happened, but the way she said it, i felt like she was blaming me for it. I was at a loss for words. Really.

So that's why in the end, i had to do a full shift. All the trouble and frustration for nothing. I might as well save them and volunteer to do a full shift right at the beginning. Btw, i made a call to L to inform her about this today, and she told me that she DID ask J to find helpers. Now who should i believe? *shrugs*

Anyway, remember the stand-in J found for Sat night? Let's call her D. First thing first, i'm really grateful that she was willing to come down for work at such short notice, what's more on a Sat night. I know it's not very pleasant to be called to work at the last minute, especially if u had made plans for urself. But that aside, i'm really wondering if she knows what she's doing, or if she's really THAT blur.

When i arrived for work on Sun, i discovered that she didn't settle the NETS machine properly for the previous day (those who worked in the retail industry before would know what that means). It's really lucky that i have a habit of checking the NETS machine every morning before i open the shop, else i would have alot of trouble balancing the sales for that day when i do the settlement at night. This is also the reason why i made that call to J that day.. to get D's hp number.

Nevermind about that, more funny and weird things to come. Since D had to do the closing that night, Jess passed D her key for the shop, and D was supposed to throw it into the Pet Lovers letterbox after she'd done the lock-up.

The next day (just for the readers' info, i worked 9am-6pm and Jess worked 1pm-10pm), which is yesterday 28th March, Jess couldn't find the key in the letterbox when she was about to close shop. And after calling D, she found out that D threw the key into the wrong letterbox. (She threw it into the letterbox belonging to the Soyabean shop.. -_-;;;)

When i found out about this i was like, "omg.. how can something like that happen??? Each shop has its own logo on the lid of its letterbox so how can she not notice that the letterbox belongs to another shop????? Was she dreaming away or too anxious to go home.....??"

Without the key Jess couldn't lock up the shop, and that's where i came in.. ~_~" I had to go back down to Hougang to pass her my key (she needs the key to open tomorrow as well coz tomorrow's my off-day). Hence, i went to Hougang by cab (was 10pm+ already) and took a cab home as well, will claim the cab fees on Wed when i go back to work of coz.

Very eventful for the past few days right? I don't know if i should laugh or cry man. In a way it's kinda funny, the way D threw the key into the wrong letterbox. On the other hand, it's also kinda troublesome, not to say a waste of time as well.

Well.... i guess such things do happen from time to time. But i reaaallly reeaaaalllyyy hope they don't happen to me again........ >_<"

Kuku MRT.. >_<

Arghz! Abit pek chek. Was planning to go for my driving advance theory lessons today de. So i took bus 132 (usually i take bus 153 straight to Toa Payoh) to Ang Mo Kio, and i intended to take mrt down to Yio Chu Kang. BUT i ended up taking the wrong side and came back to Toa Payoh instead. -_-" WTF!

Well nvm, gives me the chance to come home earlier anyway. Had been working late everyday for 9 days le. Really tiring. Plus i worked til 10pm ytd, and had to wake up at 7am today to go to work, so that made me more tired.

By the way, i have something to announce (some of u already know) - i'll be moving to Sembawang in about 2 mths time! Yea after so many mths of searching for a flat, my parents finally decided on a 5-room flat in Sembawang. It's about 10 mins walk from the mrt, and the previous owners were selling it pretty cheaply. That's the main reason why my parents grabbed it immediately. :x

My only complain abt it is that it's kinda too north for me. Many mrt stops to the central. But of coz, it's still better than Bedok in comparison. Actually i haven't been to see the flat or even the area/neighbourhood itself. So i'm not sure if the place has the shops that i usually frequent to (like comics shop for example).

Before i sign off, who's interested in watching Miss Congeniality 2??? Must jio me leh! I wanna WATCH!!

Do I look like superwoman?

Wah today i work until very pek chek.. until i buay tahan called my boss to complain. :x

Firstly, my boss last min sms me asking me to go to work earlier coz my colleague is sick and wanna leave early. I'm actually ok with that and it wasn't anyone's fault either, and i'm free already anyway. (Heng i got up earlier than planned to wash my hamsters' cages. I originally wanted to wake up at 10am.. but woke up at 7am instead. -_-;)

Next are the suppliers. I don't know what on earth was going on, the suppliers seemed to all decide to send their stock in today. I hadn't finish packing the stocks from one supplier and the next was there waiting for me to take stock already, and the cycle goes on and on and i couldn't seem to stop packing and the stocks seemed to be piling up higher. -_-"""

I bought nasi lemak for lunch, and ended up eating it for dinner (i couldn't wait anymore.. too hungry.. no strength left to carry heavy stuff), and while i was eating it, there were still piles of stocks waiting to be packed.. u can imagine how busy i was rite??? I worked like a dog man!

When the 9th supplier of the day came with another huge load of items, i really explode lor (not directly at the supplier of coz). Immediately after the person left, i called my boss to complain and she told me to list her all the suppliers that came today, coz she arranged schedules for deliveries and there're only suppose to be around 5 deliveries max per day. And i got 10 lor!! (Yea i counted, really.)

To top things up, what made the whole situation worse were some of the customers. Really, do i look like i got san tou liu bi??? Tell me the truth, i look like qian shou guan yin????? (Okay, this part is a little retarded. :x)

Anyway, i was serving this lady A who wanted to arrange for home delivery, and she was telling me what items she wanted. Then this other old.. lady B (i shall refrain from using obcenities) came and started asking me a whole bunch of questions about whether we have this item that item, where the items are, telling me to show her this and that, and yadda yadda.. u get the idea. I think i told her a dozen times to give me a min, but she couldn't seem to get it and understand what's first come first serve.

In the end, nice lady A told me to serve lor sor lady B first coz lady B kept pestering me and complaining about how our prices keep going up and that we should tell our superiors and all those shit. (Oops. Pardon me, i seem to be losing control of my fingers.) And at the same time, some customer C and D were asking me about prices and chasing me to do the cashiering.

WTF SIA!!! Don't they know the words patience and wait?! Couldn't they see how busy i was?? I was trying my best to concentrate coz so many ppl were asking me to do so many things at the same time leh!

Sometimes i really can't stand the ppl nowadays.. especially the ah sohs. (Not refering to those nice patient old ladies out there coz they're nice. :x)

By the end of the day, i managed to finish packing the stocks (i did that for the whole day man.. i might as well go work in a warehouse) thanks partly to a little help from someone, u know who u are. :x Hey i really appreciate it, just saying my thanks here in case u start thinking i'm an ingrate. :P

However, i'm sure all those things happen in any retail business, hence it doesn't affect my liking for the job. I still like working for Pet Lovers.. (despite certain disatisfactions) and there're also many happy times working there, regardless of whether it was at Holland Village or Hougang Mall. But like i mentioned before, i'll always like Holland Village branch the best. :P

Speaking of HV, i'm planning on going to visit next tue (29/3), on my off day. My supervisor's also asking me to go down, and i kinda miss the place and ppl and animals. So anyone wanna join me? Can see pets like puppies and hamsters wor~ :x

Quick update..

Here i am!! I can't wait to show off my newly adopted hamsters so.. tada! Here are some pictures that i just took. (Not very clear.. coz they kept moving around and, well, i admit my fone is not that good okay.. but still better than nothing rite! :x)

Cute hor cute hor! Kawaii ne~~~ xD And they so tame lor, no bitings and i just love the squeeking sounds they make when they play together. :x

They're brought down to my shop by my boss Alvin (he came for some 'spot-check'.. lolz nahz.. just came to take a look at the shop) who got them from a customer of his. There were 4 hamsters altogether, he took 2 winter white sapphires and gave me the other 2 sapphires. So nice hor~ :D

Kkz, enough blogging. Time for me to go sleep. I'm planning to wake earlier tomorrow to clean my 3 other hamsters' (syrian hamsters, in case anyone's wondering) cages. Usually takes me more than an hour. >_< And in case anyone thinks i'm bias, i think my syrian hamsters are cute too - in a bigger size way. :x

Ahhh........

Barely have time to switch on my laptop, much less come online to blog. And that'll be the case for the rest of this week as well, since i'll be working the late shift everyday.

Since today's my (very anticipated) off day, i'm trying to decide if i should just stay at home and rest, or to go out and enjoy myself. Right now the former seems to be winning over and i'm sorely tempted to spend the rest of the day just lazing around, that is, unless anyone has some programs interesting enough to lure me out of my house. :x

The last weekend had been really hectic at work, with the pet event going on at Hougang Mall atrium. Sales was really good, which means i barely had time to even eat my dinner (bought for my by the nice guy working next door in the DIY shop coz i'm working on my own and can't leave the shop). Chew got me my dinner at 6pm+ and i only started eating at 8pm, imagine that.

But then again, more customers is still better than less, coz ytd was reeeaaally boring. I was practically sitting there with nothing to do. Stocks have been packed up the shelves, price tags put up, items arranged nicely and neatly, with only a few customers every now and then.

Speaking of customers, i still remember the 3 indians (or malays?) that came on Sunday, just when i was about to knock off and go home. Just to clarify, i have no biasness, none whatsoever, against indians or malays, just that the customers are indians (or malays). Remember the pet event i mentioned that was going on last weekend? There was a crazy hour sale during the event whereby ppl can buy stuffs (mainly dog and cat dry food) up at the atrium at 25% discount. NOTE: The discount ONLY applies at THE ATRIUM.. must bold coz this is VERY relevant to what i'm gonna complain about later.

The 3 indians (or malays?? i really have no idea) came at 8pm+ (crazy hour sale was going on from 7:30pm to 8:30pm) wanting to buy some dog food at the atrium, but felt that it was too leh cheh to drag the stuff with them to dinner. So SOMEONE (they claimed the person was from Pet Lovers Centre) told them they could go for dinner 1st and come back later to get the stuff. Wth?? If they wanted the discount they had to buy during crazy hour sale right? So how could the person ask them to come back after their dinner (don't tell me they can buy their food and finish eating within like 10 mins)??? And what's worse, the person told them they could get 50% discount.. -_-""" What's even worse is, the person even told them they could go straight to MY shop to get the discount...!!

*explode* WHO THE HELL was that person??!!! If he/she is really from PLC (Pet Lovers) then he/she should get the info right! Yeah sure there was really a 50% discount (from what my boss told me later) but it was only for one brand of dog food (Science Diet to be specific) and in no way was it applicable at my shop downstairs.

Before anyone misunderstands and says, 'hey it isn't their fault that this happened', i know this and i'm not blaming them for this miscommunication. For this part i'm reeeaally angry at that person who gave them unclear and wrong info, and caused me so much trouble. (Better don't let me find out who it is. Hmph.)

Alright, that 1st part was done and clarified with the customers (after i called my supervisors many times and them personally coming down to my shop several times as well) ... then came the irritating part.

They accepted that they were given the wrong info and etc, but insisted that i give them 25% discount at my shop anyway, and kept saying that it was unfair to them and yadda yadda.. I really almost shooted back at them saying, 'then would it be fair to the others who came to my shop for that day and didn't get the discount??'. But being the nice retail salesgirl i am (:x), i just smiled back nicely and tried to reason with them. Nevermind about that. Then they were telling me how pissed off they were and that they're regulars of PLC and bla bla bla. From their attitude, they were like blaming me for the miscommunication, and i felt like i was tuna in a sandwich. My boss was telling me on the phone not to give them any discount and they were forcing me to do otherwise.

In the end, after listening to their whinings for like ages, my boss finally agreed to a 25% off for them. And u know what? They bought a packet of dog food worth $19+.. and the discount was around $4+............... -_-""" ALL that farking whining for a few bucks.... are they hard up or what?!? Most ppl would just give it up and go home already!

To make matters worse, they didn't have enough cash (wtf? 3 ppl don't even have 20 bucks???) and wanted to withdraw money from the atm upstairs. That in itself is ok, but just withdrawing money also took them BLOODY long! Don't tell me there's a long queue for atm at 10pm+ at Hougang Mall HOR. Knowing that i was waiting just for them to buy one freaking packet of dog food, so that i can close shop, they still took their bloody own sweet time! INCONSIDERATE PPL!! Just coz of them i went home late by half an hour leh! (My shift ends at 10pm but i went off at 10:30pm zzz.)

Man was i pissed off.. and it all started due to that person! I hope he/she steps on dog poo everyday.

*coughs* Right.. enough of that stupid episode. Today is for me to relax and rest my mind, soul, body and feet. Feel like going for pool or ktv though. Anyone wanna jio me? Contact me through hp or msn okie? :x

New look.. kawaii ne! :x

Well, i didn't design this, although i can probably do something similar to this one of these days when i got the time. I just wanna change the layout and since i don't have time to design one myself, i just took this from Blogskins.

Anyway, still kinda busy with work these days. Just got my whole month's schedule today, and i noticed that on most of the days i have to work the later shift, that is, from 1pm to 10pm. I dun really mind that much, although i do prefer the morn shift.

I still miss Holland Village.. lolz. But i like the Hougang outlet as well, though, like i said before, Holland V is the outlet i'll love the most, now or in future. :) I'll try to put up my work schedule for this month soon, probably in my next post.

Recuperating..

Finally i get an off day.. no, 2 off days after working consecutively for 8 days. I'm totally tired out.. or rather, my feet are screaming for a break! >_<

Went out earlier with Si for some coffee break (in other words, a gossip session =x) and a few games of pool. Yeah i know i'm suppose to rest but i prefer the chance to get together with my friends when i have the time.

I'm still trying to decide if i shld go down to holland village tmr to visit the staff and doggies there. I know i know, it's kinda crazy to go so far when i just left the place only a couple days ago. But i kinda miss them already, and of coz my favourite Coggie..

I wonder if she's been sold already. (She's really expensive, $1,800!!! O_O) I'm having contradicting feelings. I really hope to see her again when i go back, but on the other hand, i also hope that she finds a good owner and a good home and be happy there. *sigh* If i can afford that money i would surely have bought her home already.

See! Isn't she cute?? She likes to sleep like this, on her back with her legs facing skywards. XD

Anyway, i'll probably go holland village awhile tmr, and pluck my eyebrows at orchard as well since it's on the way. Anyone wanna join me? =x

Looking for Retail Sales Assistant

Pet Lovers Centre is now urgently looking for full or part-time retail sales assistant. Animal lovers or those interested in joining the retail line pls feel free to contact me by handphone (for those who know me personally), email or any other methods u can think of or simply just leave a msg at my shoutbox.

Alrite, i'm done with the advertising (i shld get commission for this $_$), now on with my usual yadda yadda. =x

Another long break from my blog, really, i've been toooooo busy to blog. I dun even have time to watch tv or get online or read any comics lor! *sob* Basically what i'd been doing everyday for the past week or so was working, and more working, besides the usual necessary eating, bathing and sleeping.

I make it seems like i'm made to slog everyday. Actually, i'm happy with my job (which is working at Pet Lovers Centre, in case anyone's not updated yet), as i'd mentioned umpteen times before. As the saying goes, when u're happy while working, u dun feel that it's work at all, and consequently, u wun mind working longer hours. In fact, there're times when i dun feel like going home even when my shift was over. O_O A miracle for me, since i'm a lazy person. =x

For those who are wondering, i do still have a life alrite, besides working. My face's still red from the trip to sentosa last sat. My colleagues are saying that i shld change my name to Apple instead of April. -_-"

To those who are trying to get me to attend their birthday parties or house-warmings or whatever other events, i'll try to make it alrite? I'll beg my supervisor to let me off on that day or at least let me have an earlier shift if it comes down to that too ok? To those who are trying to date me, sorry no time for dating at the moment, now i only wanna earn $$$. If anyone wanna yang wo then it's another story lah. (The last part was bullshitting LOLz. =x)

Ok, end of my rubbish section and my post lolz. Just a reminder, anyone interested in working for Pet Lovers Centre pls contact me ASAP okie? Part-time also can! Rite then, adios!
